I never see a card when a call comes in
Cards are notifications, so check these in order:
- Open Android’s notification settings for the app and make sure notifications are on. Without them, screening runs silently and you will not see any results.
- Keep both notification channels on: “Spam and blocked calls” and “Other screened calls”. Low-risk cards use the second one, which pops up without a sound.
- Open the Calls tab. If it shows “Enable caller ID & spam protection”, tap Enable and choose the app as your caller ID & spam app. The set-up guide shows how.
Calls from people in your contacts get no card, on purpose, if you allowed contacts access.
Calls from my contacts still get checked
The app can only tell a contact from a stranger if you allow contacts access. On the Calls tab, tap “Allow contacts access” under “Skip screening for people you know”, or switch it on in Android’s settings for the app. Your contacts are read on the phone only and never uploaded.
The card says “Unknown caller, not checked”
The phone could not get an answer in time, because of a weak signal, being offline or a server error. The call still comes through. You can search the number afterwards. Read why it happens.
A number I know is spam shows low risk
Low risk means the app knows little or nothing about the number. Report it, in two steps, so it can be flagged for others. Read the usual causes.
A call I wanted was blocked
Open its card and tap “Not spam”. The number goes on your allowed list and is never checked or auto-blocked again. To stop automatic blocking altogether, open Settings, choose “Block spam calls” and set it to Off.
I tapped “Not spam” by mistake
Open Settings, then “Allowed numbers”, and remove the number. Reporting a number also takes it off the allowed list.
How do I unblock a number?
Open Settings, then “Blocked numbers”, and remove it. You can also open the call in your call history and tap Unblock.
How do I update the offline list?
Open Settings, find “Data updates” and tap “Update now”. It checks for the latest data right away and ignores “Wi-Fi only”. “Last updated” shows when it last worked. The app also updates by itself once a day.
How do I make updates use Wi-Fi only?
In Settings, under “Data updates”, turn on “Wi-Fi only”. Background updates then wait for Wi-Fi. By default they use any network.
How do I change the language?
On Android 13 and newer, open Android’s settings, find the app and choose its language: English or Spanish. On older versions the app follows the phone’s language.
